Description
The challenge was to communicate and demonstrate all the benefits of the Citan without having it on site. The architectural concept of a Black Box is a perfect instrument to present a new vehicle and focuses the dramatic and exciting presentation. Inside the Black Box, a full-size model of the Citan is impressively staged via 3D projection mapping by using five projectors and LED technology on three surfaces - the floor, a backdrop and a mock-up model of the van. The show impresses the audience through the perfect harmony of infectious drama and suspenseful music.
Execution
Thanks to its strikingly clear design and exceptional height of 7m, the simple but high-class Black Box is a real eye-catcher: On the outside, the Black Box is obviously branded with the Mercedes-Benz trademark and key visual. Inside, in an area of 16,5m x 12m, the space is staged in a polygonal shape and enhances the dynamic in architecture; black mirrors at the sides add dimension. There is enough room for visitors as well as the full-size model – impressively presented via 3D-projection-mapping. The extraordinary production is a true novelty in the context of exhibition stands and further emphasizes the client’s technological leadership.
Outcome
The four-minute-long show attracts 10,000 visitors in five days. The client’s (and industry’s) positive feedback, the passionate applause after every show and an on-site survey prove: Choosing the Black Box was a bold, but extremely successful decision. The emotional show introduces the Citan to potential buyers and turns their enthusiasm into sales. Figures show an increase of orders that are directly traceable to the show at the RAI. The Black Box turns the pre-release communication into an impressive success.
