To create a micro-site that launched the BMW Z8 - the pinnacle of the BMW range.BMW required a micro-site that encapsulated the Z8 positioning of "Dream. Vision. Reality." and echoed BMW's brand values of Performance, Exclusivity, Technology and Quality.The site also needed to convey the detailed information about the Z8 in an accessible easy-to-understand form.The site needed to reflect both the positioning of the Z8 and that it is the pinnacle or 'halo' of the BMW range. Taking this into consideration it was decided to create a site that was experiential - that conveyed the Z8 'experience' in an innovative and exciting way.The site positions the car in the centre of the screen allowing an uncluttered view of this exclusive vehicle; while the navigation allows intuitive and simple movement through the site. The left hand side is the start of the dream, leading through to the reality of the Z8 - to the gallery and screensaver section on the right - leading the user on a 'journey through the dream'.The site moves out of the conventional internet environment by using a full screen image, heightening the user experience by immersing the visitor into the Z8 world.The technical execution allows transitions that are fluid and organic, mirroring the streamlined, precision engineering and build quality of the Z8. The car, like the site itself, is effortless, graceful yet inherently powerful and thought provoking - a moving experience in every sense of the word.Within the Gallery and Screensaver sections, the downloadable screensavers and desktop images allow the visitor to have a lasting impression of the Z8 by branding their PC with stylish and desirable images. For the user, these downloadable elements represent the "Reality" of the BMW Z8.
