Description

To convey to the industry, advertisers, press and talent that A+E Networks is a powerful global media brand at the forefront of entertainment and television genre creation. A secondary objective was to visually represent A+E Networks as committed to boldly developing new and better ways to tell compelling human stories.

Execution

We used bold colors and striking talent images set on a black background to convey the power of each brand as well as the dynamic strength of all the brands, shows and characters together. We wanted the look of the campaign to be as fresh and striking as our programming.

Outcome

The ad ran several times throughout the critical first and second quarters of 2013 in support of A+E Networks’ Upfront sales push. Its primary goal was to increase the stature of the A+E Networks brand and reinforce the need to advertise on its networks. Results: The 2013/14 selling season turned out to be one of the strongest in network history. Additionally, interviews during a subsequent brand audit revealed that the company’s new branding was driving perception of A+E Networks up among the press, advertisers and inside the company (all anecdotal findings).
