Description

A large percentage of trash that is trapped in what we now know as the Pacific Garbage Patch comes from shoreline debris that is washed out to sea. The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup is an event put on by the WWF and the Vancouver Aquarium to clean up our shorelines and to prevent garbage from floating out to sea.

To demonstrate the problem, and get people to take action, we depicted what the ocean might look like if we continue to neglect our shorelines. We combined real footage of landfills with footage of marine life. The result is an eerie, dystopia. The turnaround asks everyone to take action while there is time: Let’s make sure it doesn’t get this bad. People could then sign up and take part in the Shoreline Cleanup through the URL.
