Description

"Breaking 2" is a National Geographic feature length documentary about Nike's ambitious "moonshot" attempt to break the two-hour marathon barrier. The film introduces viewers to the enormity & scale of Nike's challenge: to see if they could find the best runners, identify ideal conditions and create a running shoe that could accomplish the seemingly impossible.

"Breaking 2" gave audiences an understanding of the depth of research and science behind this attempt, as well as less quantifiable components - the heart and the mind.

From testing in wind tunnels and running labs in the states, to spending time with the athletes in their homes in eastern Africa, to the final heart-pounding race in Italy, “Breaking 2” was as much about the incredible work of the scientists as it was about the three elite runners who partnered with them to test the limits of human potential.
