Description
We placed three batteries in a box, with the words 'people', 'process' and 'information' glued on to them. When you fit the batteries into a bracket, a light bulb turns on, making the caption legible: “With IBM Integration Solutions your business grows. And the results become visible”. In addition, to make the communication attain a maximum effect within each selected industry, the main headline of the piece contained the name of the addressed company, and all the letter content was oriented towards the specific needs of the industry the company was part of.
Outcome
27.48% return, resulted in a return of US$48.10 for each dollar invested. The numbers this piece reached amazed the IBM sales team; an excellent expense to revenue of 2.3%, with the IBM average goal of 7% and the market average of 10%. The piece was successful in delivering a difficult and complex concept in an extremely simple, direct and creative way. It has also clearly demonstrated one of IBM's greatest differences a customised client service that understands the needs of each company.
