Background
Domino’s Pizza wanted to boost the use of its app to place orders, but currently about10% of customers still call shops on the phone in order to order. The client asked us for an idea that would communicate the idea of downloading the app to those people who continue to use the telephone, in order to avoid waiting. And this is what we did. A simple and direct idea, presented in the brand’s characteristically humorous tone.
Execution
This piece is special because it puts a spin on a traditionally “boring” and even annoying communication method: the on-hold message. We’ve created an on-hold message that is funny and entertaining to communicate to those customers that are still placing their orders by phone that it’s much better to do so through the app, encouraging its downloading via an analogical media.
Outcome
We achieved 45% more app downloads since January 12, 2023
