OVERVIEW

Description

This cinema commercial is part of Drugstore's new "UNSUBSCRIBE" campaign for Amnesty. The campaign aims to unite people in protest against human rights abuses in the 'War On Terror'. Every ad asks us to "unsubcribe" from one particular abuse (e.g. rendition, Guantanamo, torture) at Unsubscribe-Me.org.This particular commercial urges us to unsubscribe from the CIA torture technique defended by President Bush: Waterboarding. The torture scene is enacted FOR REAL by extreme performance artist Jiva Parthipan, following the CIA Manual on Coercive Questioning.

The water sequence was shot on a Phantom HD camera capturing 1,000 frames per second.
