Description

How did the coconut end up in the car? Since 2001 Mercedes-Benz started with a virtual world of experiences (automobiles, technology, safety and the environment) for kids. The actual production of automotive parts with natural fibre from Brazil is historically based in the environment-engagement of DaimlerChrysler at the POEMA Project. The utilisation of those resources, technologies and verticalisation of the production are the keys for a longlasting substancial income of the communities in the Amazonas. This engagement should be communicated to the kids in an intelligent, playful and entertaining manner.

Solution: the production steps from the handling of the coconuts until completion of the headrests are flanked by a background story. The adventure story considers classical elements of the detective genre: the kids and the virtual figure Cedy are acting as observers. The successful production and the detective story are linked during the online game (six episodes): there are different key aspects of themes – in monthly turns. Each episode continues with a quiz with prizes (an enviroment-weekend for families).
