We found an insight: Cherry tree is a symbol of cooperative spirit in Japan, as the tree gathers a small blossom and becomes tall & beautiful.

To encourage this spirit, we decided to utilize cherry blossoms engraved on the surface of the ¥100 coin.

About 4,000 people participated in this one-week campaign, and collected about ¥450,000 (US$4,500) donations.

We planted seedlings in the city of Higashi Matsushima, in Miyagi Prefecture, one of the districts where were heavily damaged by the tsunami.
