Execution
We flew 5000 Origami pigeons into Leicester Square, London to represent the myth that paper folding originated in Japan, when in fact it's an ancient and beautiful Chinese art.The visual aspect of seeing real pigeons interacting with thousands of paper pigeons literally stopped people in their stride. The public took pictures and asked questions, but most importantly they picked up the pigeons and read them.By the end of the day all 5000 pigeons had found a new owner.
Outcome
HSBC was only required to make a very small investment for this stunt to come alive. Over 17,400 people attended the exhibition from the 15th to 30th of March, with a spike in attendance recorded after the stunt. The PR coverage was invaluable.
