Background

In India where people are challenging stereotypes and redefining the status quo. Taking forward the ethos of being a proud partner of progressive India, Flipkart’s new digital campaign puts an interesting spin on how we think about age. The #ChooseYourAge campaign challenges the inherent notion of what one can or cannot do at a certain age. In the Indian sub-continent very often, we deny ourselves of the opportunities and experiences we have because we are afraid of being judged by others. Instead of defining age by the number of biological years, the #ChooseYourAge campaign celebrates all those who don’t act their age and instead choose to define it by the number of experiences that bring them real joy.

Execution

Among advertising directors in the country, Kopal Naithani stands as one of the brightest, with a dazzling array of films under her belt. Having started out almost 18 years ago, she is today one of only a handful of women ad filmmakers in India.

Kopal has mastered the art of story-telling and extracting powerful performances. She has established herself as a creator of powerful and stylish films, without compromising on her aesthetics.

Her oeuvre is extensive – from Flipkart’s ‘Choose Your Age’ and ‘Generation Equal’ films to Axis Bank, to Caratlane to Boroplus, and many more – and stands testimony to her art and unflagging commitment.

Over the past couple of years, when Superfly Films started operations, Kopal has worked on a series of films that empower young women and marginalised groups.
