Description
Cropping famous film logos to the edge of being recognized showcases how movies of this magnitude need to be seen on the big screen.
Execution
24 x 36 sized posters were used because of its relation to the typical American movie poster size.
The movie logos had to be carefully chosen to display canonical films that at the same time would be typographically recognizable when cropped and restricted.
Outcome
The value added to the brand was to associate themselves with a creative fresh new way to advertise older films.
By making the posters harder to decode it created an engagement with the viewer that allowed for more than a passive experience and encouraged debate.
