Description

This film represents the energizing "kick" of Mountain Dew Kickstart through an absurd dance party that features a trio of guys and an entire room of unexpected characters "coming alive" to bust a move. Things escalate quickly as we see a coat rack dancing, a sheepdog twerking, video game characters shimmying, a trophy smacking its booty – even a stuffed deer comes bashing through the drywall to bust out a crazy jig. It's pure insanity from start to finish and it all starts with a kick.

Execution

We were engaged to lead the music supervision process and through our extensive music searches and evaluations, we landed on an underexposed song by A-Trak, Milo & Otis "Out The Speakers” feat. Rich Kidz that had been released by the Fool’s Gold label early last year.

“Out The Speakers” perfectly matched the energy of the TVC, and in addition to being synced and aired during the Super Bowl Pre-game, it ran on the Grammys, and NBA All Star Weekend, and continues to play on broadcast television and YouTube.

We led in the syncing of this song and the strategy to extend the sync terms beyond a traditional license. We negotiated rights beyond the traditional–partnered with talent, amplified the track commercially, and partnered with a major label–helping the brand drive the track beyond its initial use in the TVC.
