#CouchPotatoPets is a tribute to all the furry friends who share our couches. Our concept developed as pet owners from creative and social content teams bonded over watching TV with their animals. Collaboration unearthed a truly heartwarming insight.
We brought in photographer John Haynes, who specializes in an editorial style of portrait photography. Going less commercial and less staged was exactly what this idea called for.
John worked with a pet-fostering program to find a large range of subjects. “Casting real people, and using their real homes and real pets meant authenticity was built in from the beginning,” he said. The dialogue changed from ‘what can Prism TV do better?’ to ‘how great is watching TV with pets?’
We extended the love even further by inspiring our audience to connect with local shelters and adopt their own #CouchPotatoPets. After all, homeless animals deserve great entertainment too.
