Description
As Asia's largest home furnishing retailer, Courts Anniversary celebrations have always pulled in the crowds. But over at its online store, traffic has always been a far quieter affair. So for the brand's 39th Anniversary celebration this year, we were tasked to inject the buzz typically experienced on-ground - ONLINE. Via live streaming and colour recognition technology, we integrated regular bargain hunters flocking in-store into our online promotional game. The colours that they naturally wore to the store enabled the online user to unlock promo codes. Greater rewards are unlocked as more variety of colours are detected within 15-sec game-plays.
Execution
By blurring the lines between digital gameplay and the real world, we ensured that we engaged the affluent online community. It was also highly relevant as our online promo used the very thing that online shoppers prefer to avoid - massive physical crowds. A clever usage of technology turned bargain hunters in-store into the key criteria for unlocking exclusive online rewards. It was most appropriate to the brand as the magnitude of crowds could only be expected at Courts - Asia's largest home furnishing retailer.
Outcome
Within the first 3 hours of the launch of this online promotional campaign, we had over 2,000 unique visitors to the online store. Average daily unique visitation doubled over the projected response rates. Average daily sales went up by 50%, surpassing the original projection of 20%.
10,269 promo codes were redeemed online over the weekend duration of the campaign.
