Description
The idea was based on two insights:
1. The new Portfolio Competition is a unique way for young creatives to get recognized by top-employers for their creative work with focus on craft and art.
2. There are many sayings and wordplays in the field „career“ which use words and expressions from the field „creation“.
This resulted in the „“Create Your Career“ Campaign.
Seven visuals in which the iconic „One Pencil“ logo of The Young Ones Competition was interpreted in different creative styles. With headlines emphasizing the fact that by participating, creatives would get noticed by potential top-employers. The visuals themselves were created by young creatives, also as animated gifs and interactive application ((http://formula.standardabweichung.de/)
Execution
We gave young artists from all fields of creativity a simple brief: Visualize a saying or wordplay from the field „career“ within the ONE pencil shape.
The resulting visuals were sent to 6000 art and communication schools, universities and other educational institutions, events and agencies.
In 23 countries worldwide, including Italy, Spain, Germany, Brazil, Japan, Sweden, UK, Australia, Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea, Russian, South Africa, America, and China.
Outcome
The campaign resonated very well with creative students and teachers. Submissions to The Young Ones Competition are up 6% compared to the same time last year (03/2017).
