The Work the Room game was initially targeted to the designers, illustrators and artists on Portfolios.com, as a promotion for their 2005 Online Awards Show.
The game put you at a virtual Awards Show party, where you schmooze for points and status with other industry "players", just like real life. The game included links to the Awards Show sign up, plus a Send to a Friend component to encourage users to compare results with friends and colleagues -and enter the show, of course.
