Background

With technology offering tweens so many unlimited options, it’s difficult to convince them to go outside and spend time in nature. But instead of making technology the enemy, we made it part of the story. In this film, we use the language of Google searches to help tell the story of the family’s journey, and help give them answers to search for on the trail. The daughter even brings her phone along, almost like a third member of their group. But we also show that the questions she asks can’t be answered by an A.I. They can only be discovered in nature by a curious mind.

Execution

Tweens in the information age have grown up with millions of answers right at their fingertips. And as they’ve come to rely on technology for instant answers, they’re losing a spirit of curiosity and discovery. But there are still some answers that can’t be Googled. The forest is full of creative, poetic discoveries that can only be found in nature. And the journey to find them can be just as rewarding as the answers themselves. In this film, we tell the story of a father and daughter who set out to find the answers that technology can’t provide. On their journey, they not only find the answers in the forest, they find a deeper connection with each other. As we phrase it in the film, they “Discover the Unsearchable.”
