Description
‘No Call’ is a simple reminder that remaining passive means tolerating domestic violence and ultimately, murder; it’s our responsibility as humans to take action and pick up the phone when life-threatening violence is heard. The Met are taking measures to reduce the violence, but it’s not just their job, it’s all of ours. This new web film spot for MET Police tackles the sensitive issue of domestic violence in a raw and visceral fashion. There are no faces in the film, just a stark personal reaction; we look straight through the lens at a lone living room - wallpaper, TV, phone. And then the sounds of a couple fighting next door are heard through the walls. Faint, burly shouting, piercing yet muffled, a higher pitched girl’s defense, voices that get progressively louder and more desperate sounding. The screaming becomes distressing. A thump or bang or smash is heard, the wall shakes…and then there’s silence.
