The book was an eye opener for its readers. The unique look of the book, each damaged and different than the next, caught their attention and helped the YWCA surpass its goals for donations. 3,000 of the books were mailed to the top executives and decision-makers in the city and helped raise over $140,000 in new corporate donations to the YWCA of Calgary. The remaining 4,000 were sent to previous YWCA private donors of $25 or more in past years, and helped increase the average donation amount by over 40%.
