An eight year old girl in Evansville, Indiana with a breathing disorder didn't want birthday presents this year. Instead, she wanted the dogs at the underfunded local shelter she volunteers at regularly to have new beds, toys and food. Her mother spread the word and the community rallied together to make sure she got just that. Neighbors, friends and family came together to give to her by giving back to their own community in one surprise celebration of Katherine's selfless wish.
