Description
Dove is committed to creating a world where beauty is a source of confidence, not anxiety. A recent global study revealed that 9/10 women don’t think they look beautiful. Dove’s ‘Camera Shy’ film highlights the issue of beauty anxiety in women, by capturing their self-consciousness and reluctance to be unexpectedly captured by the camera, and their instinctive reaction to hide from it. The film then contrasts this with little girls who react in an opposite way, unselfconsciously showing off for the camera - indeed actively seeking it out – driven by their strong beauty confidence.
‘Camera Shy’ invites women to reflect on the point in their lives when they became their own harshest beauty critic and encourages them to rethink their own beauty confidence.
