Background
The Dream Gap is the name of one of the many adversities facing women today.
Barbie has always believed in girls unlimited potential and has helped them to imagine a world where they can be anything through play. But the real world does not always reflect that same opportunity. In fact, from age 5, many girls begin to develop limiting self-beliefs. They stop believing their gender can do or be anything. This is the Dream Gap, and Barbie is committed to closing it
Execution
Several young girls – between the ages of five and seven talk to camera about the problems facing young girls and introduce the idea of the Dream Gap.
This is the gap that appears between girls’ imaginations and what reality allows them to do.
