Description
The idea: the Dresden edition! For this purpose a dynamic logo was designed: a logo based on the ground plans of some of the most fascinating architectural buildings of Dresden.
Execution
A set of twelve logos was designed: each logo comes in a shape of the letter D for Dresden and is built on the ground plans of famous buildings such as the Semperoper, the Hofkirche, the Stadion Dresden and the Gläserne Manufaktur.
To underline the architectural and historic context, logos were sandblasted in the original building material of the iconic sights. Next to playing cards, bags and posters these stones were a special highlight of the collection.
Outcome
The Dresden Edition had an enormous coverage in all local magazines and national advertsing magazines. International design blogs from Logodesignlove to page-online posted articles about the merchandising collection. The german ad magazine „werben und verkaufen“ celebrated the work in the „favourite of the week“ column.
All posters and the stone edition were sold out within three days in the Dresden Informations GmbH shops. Therefore the Dresden Edition was the most successful merchandising edition for Dresden in history.
