Description
Jaguar F-TYPE is such an exhilarating car to drive, it can transform even the most dull and boring journeys into thrilling, exciting ones.
So we decided on a little social experiment and invited two sets of genuine best friends to put it to the test in their home towns.. Laura and Becky from Dull in Scotland - population 84…and Marty and Adam from Boring in Oregon - population 8200.
We gave them each a Jaguar F-TYPE Coupé R for the weekend, and asked them: What would you do with it? Where would go? What roads would you take it on? Who would you show it to?
Real People. No Script. Just two 5 litre supercharged V8 F-Types and a few cameras and open roads…
Execution
The brief we gave was simple - we needed genuine pairs of friends who actually lived in the towns of Dull and Boring.
We didn’t want couples, as this gives a different dynamic to the conversations that might happen inside the cars. They had to be real people with no previous on screen experience.
Our casting director travelled to the towns and did all the casting on foot - visiting local cafés, pubs and bars and talking to shopkeepers and locals to find out who the characters were and who would most likely be excited by the idea of having a supercar for the weekend.
Both pairs we found just happened to be best friends. Becky and Laura worked just 50 yards apart and Marty and Adam ran a company together.
We knew from the off they all had a certain something about them that was highly watchable.
