Execution

The Echo Effect happens when a person selects a tweet or post from a riot victim, records themselves saying those same words in a video, and then posts the video to social media.

We also uploaded videos of celebrities to YouTube, “echoing” tweets posted by students that had been brutally killed the week before.

We then invited the world to participate. We shared “Efecto Eco’s” logos on the web so everyone could be part.

While the violence and murders kept happening, people from all over the world started echoing the voices and messages of the victims.

Outcome

These results were achieved without a single paid media plan.

The Goverment media channel created several parodies of Eco Effect attempting to discredit the movement but people got involved and responded over those parodies.
