Background
Across the world on NYE, WhatsApp is a central component in connecting people. It’s a tool that spans languages and cultures. So this film, intended to celebrate the turn of the year, had to be both emotionally engaging, on a human level, but also ensure there was fair and equal representation of the communities that the film was trying to reach.
Execution
We always try to represent the five biggest market for WhatsApp. India, Brasil, Indonesia, UK and Mexico.
Outcome
We impacted almost 1 billion people. The end of the year is the busiest time for Whatsapp users and they exchanged over 200 billions messages in a day.
