Background
In smartphone retail stores, most brands will only place their product on the table with a dock as a product rack to display. The high similarity of design and wallpaper makes no difference from the competitors. The goal is so to hook customers to stay longer at our OPPO booth.
Idea
Reinvent the usage of screen wallpaper to become an entertaining mobile window display which gives an immersive visual experience.
Strategy
The OPPO A Series is a low-end smartphone product line aimed at young students and newly graduated customers. We reinvented the usage of screen wallpaper to become an entertaining mobile window display.
Execution
We used a trance-like letter animation and installed it into all OPPO A Series display sample phones. We engaged viewers without showing product information but only the series name.
Outcome
Representative salesmen from distributors determines the sales and how they engage potential customers. After reviewing the video, over 90% of our distributors installed it for their display phones and it quickly became a new medium to engage our customers.
