The creative idea was to use the April Fools` Day moment to launch a new technical breakthrough within energy production: Star-power!
Statkraft is the leading producers of environmental friendly energy in Europe and they have launched different new energy-sources, like salt- and tide-power. We wanted to use the sensational breakthrough to focus on Statkrafts existing innovation.
The active use of April Fools`Day is also an innovative use of marketing and media.
Outcome
The TV commercial was seen by 30.000 people on YouTube by the end of the day. Statkraft home-page had an increase of 60% in user numbers during the same day.
