To address the problem of illegal cutting of trees Friends of the Earth plants trees illegally. To get as much attention as possible the first trees are planted on 'high profile' spots. We started with the European Parliament in Brussels, the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the canals in front of a police station in Amsterdam.1000's of e-mails came in, newspapers wrote about it worldwide, radio stations, lots of websites wrote about it and TV stations aired it in Spain, Argentina, Turkey, and others worldwide.The campaign is still running, encouraging interested people from all over the world to plant trees.
