Description
Global 2000 is one of the biggest environmental organisations in Austria. The mailing was aimed at drawing the people’s attention to the increasing deforestation of the rain forests by the paper industry, to advise them how to handle paper economically and to direct them to the website which provides further information.
Execution
By demonstrating how simple it is to save paper, Global 2000 set a good example: Old letters, PR-mailings, bills, etc were not thrown into the garbage, but received new address stickers and were re-sent by referring to the campaign.
Outcome
The mailing costs were equal to null, due to the fact that only old, re-used letters had been sent. The smaller the costs, the bigger the effect: Within the first month of the campaign the website hits on the Global 2000 homepage increased by 68%. In only 14 weeks 2034 unique visitors and 4075 page views were reported.
