Disney brought the animated property CHICKEN LITTLE to McDonald's and they chose to feature it as one of their Disney-themed Happy Meal programmes on a global basis. This programme featured a global set of toys. Around 60 million premiums were created worldwide, and featured in over 80 different countries across three to four weeks.McDonald's also worked directly with Disney's animators to create an original, fully-CGI dedicated TV spot to help promote the programme. In-store POS, print ads, and radio also complimented this promotion.
Outcome
McDonald's Happy Meal premiums flew off the shelves during this promotion. CHICKEN LITTE went on to gross US$260 million globally.
