Background
Mastercard, as an innovative technology company, wanted to raise awareness about biometrics payment security. Knowing that the probabilities of matching a fingerprint are 1 in 50,000 and a face 1 in 1,000,000, we came up with the idea of creating real portraits using just fingerprints.
Painstakingly creating pieces of art, realistic portraits, using that awful lot of fingerprints and detail precision. Just to prove the superiority of Mastercard’s ID Check in payment security, as it uses both – Touch I and Face ID.
We invited a renowned artist (Jan Petrov) to join the campaign and paint the portraits using only ?ngerprints. We exhibited them at the Authentication & Biometry press conference, where the audience witnessed how the artist crafted such a portrait, live. We also auction the portraits, this way everyone could buy the exhibited artworks using face recognition payment.
