Description
The first execution in the fitness betting initiative is a fitness app that allows you to bet against your own performance. Using the power of wearable technology we can track your performance and pay out if your bet comes in. Running, walking and cycling are covered in the first incarnation of the app we call Fit Bet.
Execution
We intend to launch the application in clear phases. First we are launching a BETA version of the app for a select few to use and to spread the word. Once we have worked out all the bugs and used social media to test the appetite for such a product we will launch a working version via app store that the World can use. We will use charity bets in the first instance while we work out a way to use real money in a safe way that cannot be manipulated.
In parallel we will also be launching fitness apps for football and for tennis. These are currently in the pipeline and will be released in the same way as above.
Outcome
The expectation is to open up a new business area for Unibet. Both as an income stream but primarily as a brand building exercise. The long-term objective is to take fitness betting into all sports using wearable and smart sports equipment.
As of now we have no results to show as this is only just launching. But in terms of an agency influencing a brand, pushing Unibet into the area of fitness betting and health can be seen as a huge win for creativity and the agency.
