The six-minute movie created a cinematic experience for the viewer and bookended the episode. Lead actor Kiefer Sutherland introduced Ford's integration to give the movie instant credibility. At its halfway point, the movie became a 'cliffhanger' that enticed viewers to watch the post-episode conclusion. The conclusion was also 'tagged' with 'scenes from next week' which held viewers' attention.
Outcome
According to Intermedia Advertising Group (IAG), 'The Donation' was one of the most remembered commercials aired in 2003. Among F-150 owners, the sponsorship resulted in a 60% increase in favorable attitudes about Ford.
