OVERVIEW

Description

This film is produced to look like a screenplay from an old pixilated video game, where the main character is a young child from a third-world country whose greatest mission is to find food to survive. We follow the young child’s journey from the START-sign and on through the pixelated landscape. We follow its efforts to find food through the night and see how the search continues on roof tops and trough market places. As the life bar in the bottom left corner gets lower and lower, the child’s movements get more lethargic as the search goes on. Eventually the life bar runs out of life, and the child collapses on the ground. The GAME OVER-sign pops up followed by the payoff: “CHILDREN IN THE REAL WORLD DON’T GET TO STARTER OVER”. Next comes the Danmarks Indsamling-logo along with this year’s theme: “NO CHILD MUST STARVE”.
