Gate of Living is the opening track on her new album “Sandokushi”

"Sandoku" refers to the three poisons of Buddhism, namely: Moha (delusion, ignorance), Raga (greed, sensual attachment) and Dvesha (avershion, hatred)

In the video, AYA SATO represents each of the three poisons as she dances in the costumes of the three beasts.

As the Heart Sutra is chanted, wind and percussion instruments signal impending danger.

With a musical performance of astounding density and mechanical vocals, “Gate of Living” is a monologue by a mortal who covets the sweet forbidden nectar like the poisons at the gate leading to the present world, with an absolute conviction in her own five senses.
