Description
The idea was simple….an experiment that we filmed over two days.
We took an average London home, which was a little scruffy inside, and asked three independent real estate agents to give us their honest appraisal of what the home was worth in its current state. An average value was noted.
We the then got a professional cleaning team to give the whole house a CIF deep clean. Then we asked three further independent real estate agents to give us their honest appraisal of what the home was worth. Incredibly, the average value was now £280,000 more.
Execution
The filming took place over two days with a small documentary crew, six independent real estate agents from the local area and a five man professional cleaning team, using the range of CIF products. Real care was taken to ensure the agents came from different companies and had no idea of the experiment. To further ensure a fair experiment we took an average of three valuations, before and after, to even out anomalies. The cleaning team spent 3 hours cleaning the house, paying attention to all surfaces including windows, walls, floors and especially the kitchen and bathroom. The film itself was produced with dynamic music and a fun tone of voice to encourage sharing on social networks.
Outcome
The film went live W/C 21st April and has quickly drawn attention in the media. Estate agents are also starting to use the film to send to clients who are due to sell their home as a strong reminder of the benefits of a clean home when marketing their properties.
