Description
The brief was 2-fold - the gifts had to be designed by Polish designers in order to promote national intellectual capital and produce in Poland. It was necessary to incorporate elements of national heritage, use natural materials and deliver a message of environmental sustainability. At the same time, the design needed to be modern and of the highest aesthetic quality.
Execution
The idea for a gift centred around the traditional 'Milk and Honey' drink came to us while searching for suitable associations with Polish heritage. The set consists of the honey jar, the mug, the honey spoon and the recipe for preparing the drink. The drink itself is delicate in taste and is very beneficial for our health. The shape of the mug resembles milk cans. The spoon in turn has been created in the shape of a quill pen, which presents the attribute of a poet who used to describe the picturesque and 'bulging with milk and honey' landscape.
Outcome
According to a government report, the commemorative gifts for Poland's EU Presidency were met with enthusiasm by the public. They fulfilled the main objective of promoting the country through the use of Polish products and fostering an image of a modern country with young and creative energy.
