The Mouvement du Nid is a nonprofit organization involved in the fight against prostitution and helps prostitutes escape a system that ultimately destroys them. Not only is prostitution an extremely violent environment but often times, clients too are responsible for this violence. Our challenge was to explain to them that, by putting money in this system, they actually are accomplices of the violence the girls suffer.

The message begins with an announcement that the recording is authentic. A short conversation between the client and someone we think is Ines ensues. The client asks for information on her services and rates. Instead of giving the requested details, the girl answers that she is not Ines but a friend of hers and that Ines won't be available as she was thrown off a bridge by her pimp. The client is astonished. The message ends by stating it is a true story, that prostitution is a violent environment and invites the listener to help the Mouvement du Nid to help abolish prostitution.

We asked 10 actresses to embody 10 characters based on the tragic stories of real-life prostitutes, victims of the system. We created girlsofparadise.sex, a website with the look and feel of a real escort website, bought the domain name, and published a few client posts on dedicated forums to attract potential clients to our site. In parrallel, we set up a call center to answer incoming phone calls and respond to chat and text messages. The call center was open for a full week. Today the website is still online, a robot answers live chat requests informing clients what happens behind the scenes when they pay for sex.
