Knowing that Goodyear needed a good reason to fly their blimp, we had an idea to ask the Internet for help after realizing there must be millions of "It Was a Good Day" enthusiasts who would love to see "Ice Cube's a Pimp" on the side of a blimp.
To reach Ice Cube fans, hip-hop fans, Internet fans and most of all charity fans, we launched a website on crowdfunding platform Crowdhoster in an effort to raise $25,000 for A Place Called Home thus giving them the attention they deserve.
Outcome
"THE SMARTEST GUYS ON THE INTERNET." - Ice Cube (Yes, these words came out of Ice Cube's mouth)
By the end of the 15-day project, it had been discussed on Jimmy Fallon's Late Night Show, Arsenio Hall Show, CNN, Time, Buzzfeed, Fast Company, DigiDay, LA Times, Huffington Post, Complex, XXL, Vibe, LA Weekly, numerous radio stations and Creativity.
Most importantly, over $26,000 was donated to kids, Goodyear became a hero, and a great South Central youth charity got a ton of global press.
