Musical chimes hang from the ceiling of a subway tunnel. Passengers on opposite sides of the platform can make music--but only if they work together. Signs ask travelers to pull levers on both the inbound and outbound platforms. When the levers are pulls simultaneously, the hammers strike the chimes in perfect harmony.
This installation was part of Harvard Pilgrim's "Count Us In" campaign – an effort focused on partnership. Across various media, the campaign incorporated the phrase "Amazing things happen when people work together." This language was used on posters throughout the subway in a “station domination” media buy.
