In Japan, the 31st of December and the 1st of January, are treated very special, like Christmas for the Christian-base culture. On the new year's eve, many traditional rituals take place to look back and thank the year we passed. Likewise, on the new year's day, many events are held to celebrate the new years wishing for the good year ahead.
