Trendy fitness boutiques like Orangetheory & Peloton have turned working out into a competition. It's not enough to show up and put in the effort — at these classes, you’re either at the top of the leaderboard or at the bottom, being shamed.

In this spot, a maniacal spin instructor shouts crazy (sometimes terrifying and often insulting) motivations at her class. When the leaderboard shows that one class member, Carmen, is falling behind, the instructor is displeased and calls for the rest of the class to give Carmen the Hiss of Shame. They hiss at her... shamefully. Just when it seems like this can't get any worse for Carmen, we freeze frame on the instructor's insane face. The VO says "Don't ride the bike of shame," as we then transition into a friendly and welcoming Planet Fitness gym where Carmen is seen working out happily and comfortably.
