Description

"I have always been bothered by the fact that a lot of spirit and inspiration within the design process gets lost because only the girl and her accessories remain as protected areas" these are the words of Stefan Eckert. The good connections between Stefan Eckert and Florian Sigl (Bakery Films) lead to the idea to find a so far unique method to present his current collection. Close relations to Musion - London (inventor of special holographic foil) amplified the idea to create the worldwide very first fashion show based on 3D holographic technique. The challenge was to find a symbiosis between collection and technique. Within 2 days a concept was created and filmed at Cinegate Studios Hamburg. Director Florian Sigl and designer Stefan Eckert produced one of the largest holographic projections on a special foil of 12m by 9m. The strategy to combine new unseen technique and concept seeks to underline the spirit of Stefan Eckert’s new collection. About 850 people from press, friends and clients became witness of the worldwide first holographic fashion show at Kampnagel / Hamburg on March 31st, 2011.

Execution

The strategy was to communicate the inspiration, idea and philosophy behind Eckert’s collection in the most effectice and also more creative way than a casual fashion show is able to do. We achieved this by using a very old Victorian theater trick called "Peppers Ghost". While breaking the rules of space and time on stage the projection creates an optical illusion of something very tangible. This holographic show had been mediated through its execution as well as preparation on the one hand and adequate medias like TV, www, Newspaper and social network, for e.g. Facebook on the other hand. All levels support the maximum of this campaign.

Outcome

Documented results can be found on www, tv, radio and social network (for e.g. Facebook) as well as Newspapers (for e.g. Hamburger Abendblatt, Die Welt, Welt Online). The audience of this evening was fascinated to experience an outstanding notion of fashion show. After this success Stefan Eckert now even plans more holographic events within his current collection.
