OVERVIEW

Execution

Our aim was to take advantage of the fame and society's knowledge of the United States' pack of cards to express our contrary opinion. If the United States had not created the pack of cards, Amnesty International's would never have existed. In Amnesty International's pack, Iraqi military personnel have been replaced by real dead and injured civilians. We have created a new advertising medium which only makes sense in a specific social context.

Outcome

Amnesty International achieved the aims set out. The action was very widely accepted and disseminated among journalists and the various media. Several journalists called it 'the counter-pack.'
