We are shown situations throughout people's lives where nurses have played important roles – birth, vaccination, car crash, stroke etc. This is emphasized by the rhythmic voiceover which begins every sentence with "I was there..." In the final scene an old woman is lying in bed, when she gets some sort of urgent illness. She starts pulling the string to the emergency alarm. She keeps pulling the string without receiving any aid, and the voiceover says "Will I still be there in the future?" The screen goes to white and we are introduced to the situation in Norway: "In 20 years, Norway will be short of 30,000 nurses – unless we act now" The audience are encouraged to sign a petition.
