In America, the advertising spokesman is often stereotyped as someone who will make unrealistic and sometimes even false claims about the product he or she is selling.
Often, these types of advertisements will make claims that a certain product can change and improve your life in wonderful new ways.
In this spot, the character of the announcer played off this stereotype by making completely over the top claims about what the product could do for its consumers, and then admitted to making such wildly false claims.
