Background
“All by myself” is a song originally written and sung by the American singer Eric Carmen in 1975. But it’s reknown globally in the version made by Celine Dion in 1996.
Execution
The music in this commercial is not just a music, is part of the idea. The song speaks about the loneliness of a person, which is the same loneliness of our protagonist. This is the reason why we chose it: to express the feelings of our little boy, who, through the lyrics of the song, can scream to the world his sadness to go to school all alone. But as in a musical, the music is just a suspension of reality, so nobody will ever listen to him, because in real life he’s just singing to himself.
